I visited Shisendo and Manshu-in today. In Kyoto, the Zen temples that I have been to are mostly Rinzai school, but Shisendo belongs to Soto school of Zen. Shisendo in this season is really beautiful. I used to run the steep slope street in front of Shisendo as club activities, and I actually had entered Shisendo only once until last year. I like to see Shisendo in the winter next time.
Manshu-in is beautiful in itself, but the street to Manshu-in is very rual and evoke my image of old day Japan.
